Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.

To avoid damage, unplug the wiring connectors carefully
while holding the connector portion.
|
|
|
Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection.
|
|

Remove the engine cover.
|
|
2. |
Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
|
|
3. |
Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps, and then
remove the wiring and protectors from the cylinder head and the intake
manifold.

The intake oil control valve (OCV) connector (A)

The exhaust oil control valve (OCV) connector (A)

The alternator connector (A)

|

The ignition coil connectors (A)

The intake camshaft position sensor (CMPS) connector (A)

The exhaust camshaft position sensor (CMPS) connector

Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).

Disconnect the breather hose (A).

|
|
6. |
Remove the ignition coils.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - “Ignition Coil”)

7. |
Remove the engine oil level gauge.
(Refer to Lubrication System - “Oil Level Gauge & Pipe”)
|
|
8. |
Remove the cylinder head cover (A).

Unfasten the bolts in the sequence as shown.
