Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect the mode control actuator connector.

Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the defog mode
when connecting 12V to the terminal 3 and grounding terminal 7.
Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the vent mode
when connecting in the reverse.

Connect the mode control actuator connector.
|
5. |
Turn the ignition switch ON.
|
6. |
Check the voltage between terminal 6 and 5.
Specification
It will feedback the current position of the actuator to the controls.

If the measured voltage is not within specification, substitute
with a known-good mode control actuator and check for proper operation.
|
8. |
Replace the mode control actuator if it is proved that there is
a problem with it.
